Acne Nutritionist London & Online

Private, Bespoke Skin Support

For those who have tried everything — and are ready to understand why their skin is still not responding.

Acne is rarely just a skin concern. In many of the clients I work with, it reflects deeper imbalances in hormones, metabolism, gut health or inflammation.

You can have an excellent skincare routine — and still experience persistent breakouts.

As a London Nutritionist, I offer a private, highly personalised approach to acne, focused on identifying and addressing the internal drivers affecting your skin.

Consultations are available from my private clinic in Marylebone, Central London, conveniently located for clients in Marylebone, Harley Street and the wider Central London area, as well as discreetly online.

Why Clients Choose to Work With Me

  • Clinical, root-cause approach — I look beyond surface symptoms to understand what is driving your acne internally.
  • Highly personalised support — no generic plans; every recommendation is tailored to your physiology, lifestyle and goals.
  • Experience with complex cases — many clients come to me after trying multiple treatments without lasting results.
  • Whole-body perspective — I consider hormones, digestion, metabolism, stress and lifestyle together, not in isolation.
  • Private, discreet service — consultations are designed to be calm, confidential and tailored to your needs.
  • Focus on long-term results — the aim is not quick fixes, but sustainable improvements in both skin and overall health.

A More Refined Approach to Acne

Most acne advice is generic. Your physiology is not.

Rather than applying one-size-fits-all protocols, I work with you to understand:

  • Why your acne is presenting in your specific pattern
  • What internal systems may be under strain
  • Which interventions are most relevant for your body

This is not about eliminating everything or following rigid plans. It is about precision, clarity and sustainable results.

What We Address — The Root Causes of Acne

Hormonal Patterns

Breakouts around the jawline, chin or lower face often reflect hormonal shifts.

This may be relevant if you experience:

  • Cyclical acne before your period
  • Irregular cycles
  • Symptoms associated with PCOS or perimenopause

Explore further via my hormone-focused nutrition support.

Blood Sugar & Metabolic Stability

Even subtle fluctuations in blood sugar can influence oil production, inflammatory pathways and hormonal signalling.

This is one of the most overlooked drivers of persistent acne.

For those managing more complex metabolic conditions, such as blood sugar dysregulation, you can also explore my type 1 diabetes nutrition support.

Gut Health & the Microbiome

Digestive health and skin are closely connected.

If you experience bloating, IBS-type symptoms or food sensitivities, these may be contributing to your skin.

Learn more on my gut health nutrition page.

Inflammatory Load

Chronic low-grade inflammation — driven by diet, stress or lifestyle — can amplify acne severity and slow skin recovery.

Nutrient Status

Skin repair relies on adequate levels of zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and key vitamins involved in skin turnover.

Deficiencies can impair the skin’s ability to heal efficiently.

Who This Is Designed For

  • Those who have tried multiple treatments without lasting success

Acne Nutritionist vs Dermatologist vs GP — A More Considered Perspective

Many clients I see have already consulted multiple professionals. Each plays a different role.

If you would like a more detailed breakdown, you can read my full comparison on nutritionist vs dietitian in the UK.

GP — First-Line Medical Support

A GP can provide initial assessment, prescriptions and referrals. However, consultations are often brief and may not explore deeper contributing factors.

Dermatologist — Specialist Skin Treatment

Dermatologists diagnose and treat skin conditions, particularly in more severe or scarring cases. Their focus is primarily on symptom management.

Acne Nutritionist — Root-Cause Focus

I focus on internal contributors including hormones, blood sugar regulation, gut health, inflammation, nutrient status and lifestyle factors.

This approach is particularly valuable for persistent or adult acne.

As a skin-focused nutritionist, I look at the full picture.

The Most Effective Approach

In many cases, combining dermatological care with nutrition support provides the most effective results.

My Position

I complement medical care by addressing underlying drivers and supporting long-term skin health.

Timeline — What to Expect

  • 4–6 weeks: reduced inflammation and fewer breakouts
  • 6–12 weeks: clearer, more stable skin
  • 3+ months: sustained improvement

The goal is lasting change, not quick fixes.

When This Level of Support Is Most Valuable

  • Persistent or worsening acne
  • Suspected hormonal imbalance
  • Digestive symptoms alongside skin issues
  • Previous treatments have not worked

For complex cases, a holistic nutrition approach may be beneficial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can nutrition really improve acne?

In many cases, yes. Addressing internal factors such as hormones, blood sugar and gut health can significantly influence skin.

Will I need to follow a strict diet?

No. The approach is personalised and designed to be realistic and sustainable.

Do online consultations work as well?

Yes. Many clients achieve excellent outcomes through online consultations.

Is acne always caused by diet?

No. Acne is multi-factorial, but nutrition is often a key contributing factor.

Should I still see a dermatologist?

If acne is severe or scarring, dermatological care may be important. Nutrition support can complement this by addressing underlying factors.

My Approach

As a Nutritionist and Nutritional Therapist, when working with patients in my London clinic and online, I take a holistic approach. Rather than suppressing the symptoms, I work on finding the root cause of your acne and restoring the balance using diet, supplements and lifestyle.

The gastrointestinal system, especially the gut, houses a significant portion of the immune system. Approximately 70% of the body’s immune cells are found in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). This high concentration of immune cells in the gut is essential for monitoring and responding to potential threats from ingested microorganisms and antigens.

The interaction between the gut and skin is complex, involving a balance between protecting the body from harmful pathogens and tolerating beneficial substances.

Changes in this balance, such as disruptions in the gut microbiota or increased permeability of the intestinal lining, have been suggested to play a role in the development or exacerbation of skin diseases.

My 5R Approach

REMOVE

Remove allergic/intolerant foods, parasites, bad bacteria, yeast. This may include an ‘elimination diet’ to find out what foods are causing the symptoms.

REPLACE

Replace digestive secretions, such as hydrochloric acid, digestive enzymes or bile salts, that are required for proper digestion and that may be compromised by diet, drugs, diseases, ageing, and other factors.

REINOCULATE

Populate your gut with probiotics and prebiotics.

REPAIR

Help the lining of the gut repair itself by supplying the key nutrients.

REBALANCE

Address the lifestyle factors that may affect your gut function.
