Healthy Collagen Peanut Butter Cups (No-Bake)

Healthy collagen peanut butter cups made with dark chocolate, cut open to show creamy peanut butter filling

These healthy collagen peanut butter cups are a simple, no-bake alternative to traditional chocolate cups. They’re naturally sweetened, rich in healthy fats, and include added protein to support satiety—making them ideal for a balanced treat or snack.

Why they work: pairing fat and protein with a small amount of sweetness helps slow digestion and reduces the sharp energy dips often associated with conventional chocolate treats. This is the same principle behind other no-bake favourites, such as simple chocolate peanut butter banana bites, where minimal ingredients still deliver satisfaction.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup natural peanut butter (smooth, no added sugar)
  • 1 tbsp collagen powder Ossa Organic (use code MILENAKALER15 for 15% off)
  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 150g dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional)

Method

  1. Line a muffin tray with paper cases or use a silicone mould.
  2. Mix the peanut butter, collagen powder, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Gently melt the dark chocolate (add coconut oil if using).
  4. Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate into the base of each case.
  5. Add a spoon of the peanut butter mixture.
  6. Cover with the remaining melted chocolate.
  7. Refrigerate for 30–40 minutes until set.

Why Add Collagen?

Collagen increases the protein content without changing flavour or texture, making it easy to incorporate into no-bake recipes. It works particularly well in nut-based fillings, similar to the structure used in protein peanut butter vanilla bites, where protein enhances satiety without overcomplicating ingredients.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using sweetened peanut butter, which adds unnecessary sugar
  • Overheating the chocolate, which can affect texture and taste
  • Skipping chill time, which helps layers set properly

Storage & Make-Ahead Tips

Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, these peanut butter cups keep well for up to seven days. They can also be frozen for longer storage, making them a convenient option alongside other make-ahead treats like no-bake protein brownies.

Simple Variations

If you enjoy experimenting with flavours, you might also like festive chocolate combinations such as white chocolate and pistachio figs or lighter snack-style options like white chocolate strawberry energy balls. These follow the same balance-first approach while offering variety.
